AMELIORATING POVERTY THROUGH INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY

Poverty is a disease that can kill an individual before his time; a man living in poverty may find it difficult to think well not to talk of living a successful life. One of the important means of ameliorating poverty is Information and Communication Technology (ICT), since with ICT skill and equipment one can be economically sound even when unable to secure paid employment. This paper will therefore examine the concept of poverty, causes and effect of poverty, meaning of ICT and the means of alleviating poverty through ICT.
