SCHOOL HEALTH SERVICES IN BAYELSA STATE

Where there are schools for children, there is the need for an organised school health services. This is because schools are the most important agencies outside the home in shaping the health and personality of the child. Protection of the health of children in schools is a joint responsibility of the Ministries of Education and Health. It is the responsibility of schools to provide a safe and healthful environment for learning and teaching healthful living as a part of the total education of the students. Participants in this study (children) are still growing and developing both mentally and physical. Therefore efforts should be made to promote their health, prevent diseases and correct any abnormality which may have effect on health
