The study explored the levels of competency and the challenges preventing acquisition of skills by fashion designers trained through apprenticeship and educational institution system towards unlocking opportunities for curbing unemployment issues in Nigeria. The study adopted survey research design in which structured questionnaire was used to elicit responses from participants.
