This research paper was designed to examine the roles of mentorship in the training of Business Education teachers in Nigeria. The concept of mentorship was examined with specific references to other scholarly works in the area. The authors developed a conceptual framework to properly illustrate what mentorship is all about. The framework examined some variables and the two main actors in mentorship were examined. The model equally emphasized the various mentoring strategies which include: traditional one-to-one, team, group, peer and e-mentoring. The roles of an effective mentor were also examined and a table was used in illustrating these roles. Some of the roles examined in the table include adviser, guidance, teacher, coach, role and counsellor. A section was devoted to examining the types of mentoring and the roles of mentorship in the training of Business Education teachers. One of the recommendations advanced by the authors was that proper recruitment test should be conducted in selecting new Business Educators so as to be able to ascertain their strengths and weaknesses; and design a mentoring programme to meet their training needs.
